Evaluate the persuasiveness of an argument contained in an article.Read and evaluate the argument and then translate that analysis into a clear and precise analytical essay.

For the homework assignment students evaluate the persuasiveness of an argument contained in an article. The objective of the exercise is to assess the overall persuasiveness of the argument by specifically focusing on the quality and quantity of the evidence in the article using the argument analysis checklist (appendix D).

The students read and evaluate the argument and then translate that analysis into a clear and precise analytical essay. The in-class group exercise conducted in Writing Workshop #1 provides a good understanding of how to effectively accomplish this task.
Below are web links to five different articles.
